The Middle Georgia Concert Band was organized in the fall of
1992 to provide opportunities for amateur musicians with high school or college
music backgrounds, to continue participating in music performance, rehearsals
and fellowship with other musicians. The group is largely composed of amateur
musicians from all walks of life, but contains numerous music professionals.
Membership is open to the public and anyone with a background in music is
encouraged to join.
The group performs six to ten concerts and other public
performances during the year. Many are provided as public service, e.g.
Veteran's Day, Cherry Blossom Festival and First Night Macon. Rehearsals are
from 7:00 to 9:00 pm each Monday night from August - May at Tattnall Square Academy
located at 111 Trojan Trl, Macon, GA
For information concerning membership, arranging for a concert
or becoming a band patron and sponsor, contact the Band President, Dick Malone, or the Band Director, Nancy Rector.
